Re: Stage 4 Restrictions
The Victorian Government has announced that metropolitan Melbourne will move to Stage 4 restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Tuesday 4 August 2020 is an official student free day in government schools across Victoria.
Changes to schools’ operations commence from Wednesday 5 August and are likely to apply until the end of Term 3.
HALLAM PRIMARY SCHOOL-METROPOLITAN MELBOURNE SCHOOLS
PREP TO YEAR 10
Prep to Year 10 students will continue with remote and flexible learning. The criteria for students that can attend on-site has changed as follows:
children whose parents are permitted workers. The Victorian Government will provide further advice about this over the coming days
vulnerable children in out of home care, children known to child protection and other agencies and children the school identifies as vulnerable
children with a disability who also fit one of the above two categories.
SENIOR SECONDARY YEAR 11 AND 12 (VCE AND VCAL)
All Year 11 and 12 provision for both VCE and VCAL will move to remote and flexible learning.
The GAT will be rescheduled from Wednesday 9 September to Wednesday 7 October.
The schedule for the VCE examinations and release of results will remain as previously advised.
Further information about consideration of disadvantage and coronavirus (COVID-19) will be provided shortly.
On-site provision in specialist schools will only be available to children whose parents are permitted workers, and vulnerable children.
Schools will ensure sufficient staff are available for necessary on site supervision.
Staff not required for on-site supervision will work from home.

Welcome to Hallam Primary School for the second semester of 2020.
At Hallam Primary School we continue to provide a safe learning environment where students can learn and develop as individuals. Our curriculum programs are designed to maximise the learning potential of each student and to support the development of life-long learners.
Staff at Hallam Primary School work to develop confident and resilient learners who undertake learning with purpose and independence. The wellbeing of students is integral to these expectations, and our programs.
Please call our Administration Office if you would like to discuss your child enrolling at Hallam Primary School. We are currently taking enrolment for 2021. We look forward to assisting you.
Members of the Hallam Primary School community are reminded that Term 3 commences on Monday 13 July. Students are expected to be at school between 8:30am-8:55am. We will continue to implement the expanded hygiene routines established during Term 2. Students continue to require a personal water bottle.
For Term 3, there are new dismissal arrangements. Prep-Year 2 students will be dismissed at 3:15pm. Years 3-6 students and their younger siblings will be dismissed at 3:30pm. Our school zone
Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
